- Information in Norwegian
The species was originally introduced to Europe from Africa and the Middle East, and does not normally survive the winter in Norway. It can, however, become established in various indoor environments, and is sometimes encountered outdoors in the summer. It is omnivorous and is considered a pest. It is nocturnal, and often hides in holes and crevices. The song is very strong and reminiscent of bird chirping.
