Similar species
The species has a prostomium without lobes or glandular ridges, and four pairs of branchiae not arranged in a single transverse row, but rather two anterior pairs arranged closely together in transverse row without median gap, and the two following pairs of branchiae in a oblique longitudinal row. This combination of characters makes it unlikely to confuse adult complete specimens of Paramytha schanderi with any other Ampharetidae in Norwegian waters.
