Shell description

The shell is external and elongate, squarish-oval in shape when viewed from above. The shell opening is wide. The top of the shell (apex) is blunted and slightly sunken into the shell. The shell is umbilicated. The shell surface is covered with white raised lines crossing to form a netlike pattern.

Animal description

The body is pale yellow in colour, other than that little is known about the anatomy of this species.

Ecology

Down to 300 m depth on silt and clay as well as on muddy sand with decaying dead algae.

Geographical distribution

In Norway supposedly in the Norwegian Trench (60°31′N) and Fensfjorden. Southwards to Mediterranean Sea, off Mauritania and Madeira Island.
